Minister happy to continue talks

by isleofman.com 21st April 2011

The Minister for Community Culture and Leisure says he's happy to continue talks about potential redundancies for a number of railway workers.

Yesterday (Wed) Unite Regional Industrial Officer Steve Salter said he was disappointed that some workers had received letters saying they’d been selected for potential redundancy as he believed talks on the matter had been making progress.

David Cretney says he has dual obligations both to the staff at the railways and to the taxpayer to ensure that his department is run more efficiently.

He claims the letters were sent as a course of due process
