'Value for money' demanded from child care providers

'An ambitious route map' has been set out for the provision of child care services in the Isle of Man, for the next three years.

The Department of Social Care has reviewed and renewed contracts with the Children Centre, St Christopher's and the Isle of Man Adoption Centre, and is confident high standards will be maintained.

However, in the current economic climate value for money is also considered extremely important, and the department says significant savings will be made.

Minister for Social Care Martyn Quayle says accountability features prominently in the agreements as well:
