by isleofman.com 18th April 2011

A giant inflatable has been touring the Isle of Man today (Monday) as part of a Round Table initiative to raise funds for the RNLI.

National president of Round Table John Kilshaw and the 'message in a bottle' have been calling in at lifeboat stations across the British Isles.

They set off from Round Table headquarters in Birmingham in January, and are here to visit the stations at the organisation's birthplace, as well as founder Sir William Hillary's former home, Fort Anne, and the Tower of Refuge.

Secretary of Rushen Round Table Matthew Mosely says his branch hopes to contribute ?5,000 to the cause (play audio file):

The giant bottle is due to finish its marathon journey in Blackpool on May 6.
