Number 73 opens for business

A CHARITY shop selling second hand furniture has been officially opened by north Douglas MHK John Houghton.

 

Number 73, on Circular Road, is Age Concern's first shop in Douglas since 2004.

 

John Houghton was joined by Age Concern supporters, staff, board members and chief executive of Age Concern George Quayle at the official opening on Friday, April 15.

 

George said: "From the day we announced we were to open Number 73 the response has been magnificent.

 

"People have been extremely generous in donating good quality furniture we'll be offering for sale at reasonable prices, with the proceeds going towards benefiting older people in the Isle of Man."

 

He also thanked Age Concern staff for their hard work in preparing the shop for business.

 

Number 73 is open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. To donate items please telephone 01624 613044. Free collection can be arranged.
