by isleofman.com 18th April 2011

Douglas Royal and Ramsey will contest the ninth MBL Women’s FA Cup Final.

Royal secured their seventh FA Cup Final appearance with a 5-2 over their Ballafletcher neighbours and holders Corinthians.

A Donna Shimmin hat-trick and goals from Siobhann Lockwood and Bekki Cole proved crucial.

Sarah O’Reilly and Jade Burden replied as the holders bowed out.

Ramsey secured their first ever major cup final spot after defeating Gymns 4-2 in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

The scores were locked at 2-2 after normal time and both sides traded goals as extra-time finished 3-3 before the northerners won on spot-kicks.

Lauren Stoutt (two) and Karmina Kovanda were on target for Ramsey with Eleanor Gawne netting two penalties and Rachel Beckley also scoring for the Tromode side.
