Advantage Bacchas in title race

by isleofman.com 16th April 2011

It could be the pivotal day in the race for the Wi-Manx Mixed Premier Division.

Reigning champions Bacchas A now have the advantage after edging a seven goal thriller against title rivals Vikings A.

And with Valkyrs A held to a goalless draw by Celts, victory for Bacchas A – against Celts – in the final game of the season will clinch the title.

Louise Corkill, Andrew Whiting, Dave Kneale and Andy Bridson grabbed the Bacchas goals in a dramatic 4-3 victory over Vikings.

Dave Millward (two) and Zoe Carney were their scorers.

At the other end of the table, Vikings B secured a first win of the season to take the relegation battle to the last game.

They had to defeat closest rivals Valkyrs B and did just that.

Johnny Killey (two), Danni Coombes and Jan Carney netted in a 4-2 win.

Dave Hall scored both for Valkyrs.

Elsewhere, second half goals from Hannah Grubb and Laura Bellwood fired Ramsey A to a 2-0 victory over Bacchas B.
