by isleofman.com 17th April 2011

A NEW tournament for the Island’s senior golfers with a prize fund of more than £3,000 will take place this summer.

The KHG Funds Senior Open will take place over three rounds on May 27, June 30 and August 5 and is for golfers - male and female - over the age of 50.

Three co-sponsors are joining KHG for the golf days which will be staged at Castletown, Ramsey and Peel courses.

Cowley Groves are involved at Castletown on May 27, Boal & Co (Pensions) at Ramsey on June 30 and MBL Financial at Peel on August 5.

Tee times have been reserved at each course between 9am and 3pm and players will go out in groups of three for the 54-hole Stableford tournament. A full handicap will apply (men 28 and ladies 36). There will be individual prizes at each event and an overall winner.

Numbers are restricted and based on a first-come-first-served basis. The entry fee is £40 and will include refreshments at each event and a buffet at the final event in Peel. A reserve list will be created if over-subscribed and fees returned if players miss out.

Glen Cochrane, director of KHG, said, “We are committed to supporting the local community and this competition provides a very positive way to introduce the KHG range and the wider Creechurch Capital services to the Island’s residents.”

Players requiring an entry form or any additional information should contact Debbie Gardiner at Creechurch Capital on 653810 or visit www.khgfunds.com
