MHKs say 'specialist breast surgeon must stay'

North Douglas MHK John Houghton says he and East Douglas member Brenda Cannell will continue to fight to keep the services of a specialist breast surgeon on the Isle of Man.

The Department of Health says there aren't enough cases to justify having a specialist, and wants to bring in a general surgeon who has an interest in breast cancer cases.

Mr Houghton says the achievements of the locum who has been taking care of breast cancer patients over the last year or so cannot be underestimated:
