by isleofman.com 14th April 2011

THE Australian Pink Floyd Show will open this year's Manx Telecom Bay Festival in June.

The tribute band has been described as "the best tribute band in the world" by the Sunday Times and will take to the stage on Friday, June 17.

The show has been performed in some of the UK's biggest arenas including the 02 in London, MEN Arena in Manchester and the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

It promises to be visually stunning with light shows, laser beams, inflatables and 3D projections.

Festival promoter Jamie Irving said: "We wanted to kick off in style and stage a band which would provide a truly memorable set no-one could forget, and The Australian Pink Floyd Show is that band.

"Pink Floyd produced some of the most lasting music in contemporary rock and pop history and The Australian Pink Floyd Show brilliantly recreate every note. Combined with the eye-popping special effects, this show is simply too good to miss."

The real Pink Floyd has not toured since 1994 – but this show is well known to them, guitarist Dave Gilmour hired The Australian Pink Floyd Show for his 50th birthday celebrations.

Following this five top name comedians will take to the stage including Alan Carr, Dara O'Briain, Andy Parsons, Shappi Khorsandi and Kevin Bridges.

Tickets start from £22.50 and can be purchased online at www.bayfestival.im.
