Island students win UK debating prize

by isleofman.com 13th April 2011

Politics students at St Ninian's High School will be working behind the scenes on BBC television's Question Time later this year, having taken one of the top prizes in a United Kingdom national competition.

They were judged one of the four winning teams after staging their own version of the debating programme in front of a live audience at the end of March.

They made it to the final in the face of competition from over 1,000 schools across the British Isles, and their performance, at the Douglas Youth Centre on March 31, was judged by industry professionals.
