IoD members offered discount to join new Business Centre

THE membership fee to join the new Business Centre in Capital House has been offered at a discounted price for members of the local branch of the Institute of Directors.

The IoD’s local chairman, Sally Bolton, announced yesterday that the standard membership fee to join the Business Centre has been reduced by £100.

The local committee of the IoD recently reached an agreement to use the new Business Centre in Capital House on Circular Road as its Manx base. It is now the administrative base for the IoD and will be managed from there by arrangement with the Chamber of Commerce.

“The agreement negotiated does not include automatic membership of the Business Centre for IoD members,” said Ms Bolton, “but we have negotiated a discount on Business Centre membership for IOD members who will receive £100 off the standard fee of £350 +VAT.

“Whilst we would ideally like to offer ‘free membership’ to the Business Centre to IOD members, funds are not available to enable us to do that.”

Access to the Business Centre is available on a daily basis, subject to an admission fee. There are also rooms available for hire for meetings and a new restaurant will open very shortly on the ground floor.

Ms Bolton added, “I’m sure you will agree that the Business Centre is a superb facility and there is an opportunity at the moment for anyone interested to visit and Debbie will be pleased to show you round.”
