THE new bowling and leisure centre in Ramsey will be officially opened on Saturday, May 7.
Sure Strike Bowling and Leisure Centre, on Queen's Promenade, includes a 10-lane bowling alley with its own American-style bar and grill, pro-shop, soft play area for children and a gym.
It has been organised and built by bowling alley experts Buffalo Bowling with support from Sure.
The official opening will be marked with a family fun day which will include juggling acts, balloon animals, face painting, a colouring competition and a Young Magicians of Mann show for children.
Adults will be able to enjoy the food from the bar and grill restaurant and a display of classic American cars, which will be parked outside all day.
Alan Price, the managing director of Buffalo Bowling, said: "It has been a long time now since the Manx Superbowl closed in Douglas, but I know bowling would still be a really popular activity for both young and old if the option was there.
"People, kids particularly, have been asking me for years whether we were going to bring a new one to the Island. Now that we have found the right site for it I am really pleased to be opening Sure Strike.
"We hope to see everyone there on opening day for their chance to be one of the first to bowl."
The centre is expected to attract 100,000 visitors every year. While many of these will be parties and regular bowling leagues, there are also annual membership packages available for keen bowlers.
