New stadium 'a fitting legacy'

The leader of Douglas Borough Council is confident the local authority's decision to pull out of the refurbishment scheme for the Bowl was the right one.

David Christian was speaking after praising the contractors and government for completing the ?3 million project on time and within budget.

The new 3,000-seat stadium will be a showpiece venue for the Commonwealth Youth Games later this year, and Councillor Christian says it will be a fitting legacy from the prestigious international event:
