Government's commitment to tourism questioned

The manager of a Douglas hotel says he is concerned the Manx government appears to be giving up on tourism.

Dave Mackey from the Ascot was responding to the Department of Economic Development's plan to halve staffing levels in the Tourism Division.

The department says it's committed to improving communication and consultation with the industry.

But Mr Mackey says Director of Tourism Rod Nipper, whose position is going, was already doing a good job in that respect:
