Minister says deal will bring stability

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne is welcoming a deal, announced on Friday, which has put the Steam Packet in under new ownership.

The ferry firm's shares have been transferred to a Manx company called Sealion Isle of Man, which is owned by a banking consortium led by Portugal’s Banco Espirito Santo.

Mr Gawne says he is confident the new owners have the long-term interests of the Packet at heart, and that stability will be good news for passengers:
