A PHOTOGRAPHY competition for secondary school students has been launched by Crowe Morgan accountants.
The competition is open to all young people between 11 and 18 years of age and is an opportunity for aspiring local photographers to have their work published and distributed in the Isle of Man and overseas.
Winning images will be used in Crowe Morgan's 2010 calendar and 13 winners will be presented with £100 in vouchers, a copy of the calendar and a framed copy of their photograph.
David Morgan, partner at Crowe Morgan, said: "We produce a desktop calendar every year and for the last three years have used Manx landscape photographs taken by Richard Kinley, which have received many favourable comments from Manx and overseas clients.
"This year we are taking a different approach which recognises the talent of local young people and gives our clients, especially those who don't live on the Isle of Man, a flavour of what life here on the Island is all about.
"We are therefore inviting all students in secondary schools and colleges to submit photographs that reflect our chosen theme, 'Spirit of the Isle of Man', for our 2012 calendars."
Photographs should reflect anything uniquely Manx – including heritage, countryside, the arts and sports.
Images should be submitted in a high resolution, digital format (min 225dpi) and landscape in composition. Photographers can submit more than one piece of work.
The closing date for the competition is September, Friday 23, but photographs can be submitted anytime before that date.
