POLICE are hunting for a thief who stole money from an honesty box at Gelling's Farm in Baldrine.
The honesty box is used to collect money from the sale of eggs.
PC Bryn Griffith said: "It is a shame when 'honesty' boxes are targeted. This is one of few left around the Island and relies on, as the name suggests, people's honesty.
"It is obvious the person who has done this has no conscience and has seen this as an opportunity to gain from other people's good will.
"I would urge the person who has done this, or any person who has knowledge of this incident to inform the police. This can be done by calling the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555111 if they wish to remain anonymous."
The money was taken between 7.30am and 7.45pm on Wednesday. It is not known exactly how much money was taken.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Onchan Police Station on 01624 675190.
