New governor sworn in today

by isleofman.com 7th April 2011

Mr Adam Wood is being officially installed as the Isle of Man's 29th lieutenant governor in Castletown this morning (Thursday).

The ceremony, from his arrival in the ancient capital at 11am, will be broadcast live on Manx Radio.

After the investiture, in the castle, he will take his place in the long line of those appointed to represent the reigning British monarch in the Crown dependency of Mann.

His appointment has marked something of a change in procedure, as John Moss reports (play attached audio file):

There will be edited highlights of the ceremony in Perspective this evening, straight after the 6pm news.
