Cav Takes Classic Win

by isleofman.com 6th April 2011

Mark Cavendish has won Belgium's oldest one-day classic for the third time.

He took the honours in a chaotic bunch sprint finish at the end of today's Scheldeprijs Vlaanderen.

Amongst those who crashed into the barriers was Tyler Farrar.

Cavendish tasted victory in this race in 2007 - his first win as a professional rider - and repeated the task in 2008.

He's only the second rider in history to win the event three times.
