Job Club reaches milestone

by isleofman.com 4th April 2011

THE Job Club recently registered its 1,000th user since launching in July 2009.

Run by the Jobcentre, the club is a designated and pleasant environment where people looking for employment can receive advice.

The Job Club offers practical assistance in areas such as CV compilation and job interview techniques.

Economic Development Minister Allan Bell MHK said: "It is excellent to hear so many individuals are taking full advantage of the Job Club initiative and utilising what it has to offer to help them with their search for employment.

"The process of searching and applying for jobs can prove a daunting experience for many, but the practical assistance the Job Club offers has proved invaluable for its users to date."

Clare Christian, department member with responsibility for the Jobcentre, said: "I would advise people who think they could benefit from assistance in their job search to get in touch with the Jobcentre team for more information.

"To date, there have been over 5,000 return visits to the Job Club in the 20 months since the initiative was launched which proves how beneficial its users think it is."
