Hopes for electoral 'level playing field'

Legislation which would cap spending by Manx election candidates and outlaw anonymous donations faces its first hurdle tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Representation of the People (Amendment) Bill 2011 is down for its first reading in the House of Keys.

Chris Robertshaw won last year's by-election in East Douglas, the poll which sparked calls for electoral reform.

He says no one should be able to spend their way to success:
