by isleofman.com 4th April 2011

A SIX year old boy is aiming to cycle 100 miles to help other children in the Isle of Man.

Cameron Hawes from Kirk Michael has set himself the challenge for the Easter holidays. He said he wants to help children who are not as lucky as he is.

He will clock up the miles in a series of rides based at the National Sports Centre, the Heritage Trail between Douglas and Peel, the old railway line between Kirk Michael and Ballaugh and Douglas Promenade.

Cameron will be joined on his rides by his mum and dad, Rosie and Phil Hawes, friends from the Team Isle of Man Royal London Cycling league and senior officers from the Isle of Man Constabulary.

He will raise money for three local charities: Wish Upon A Dream – which grants wishes for sick children - Manx Radio's Dream Catcher Appeal which raises money to support local groups and individuals and the Royal London 360 Children's Cycling League.

If you would like to sponsor Cameron contact his mum Rosie on 07624 481192, Lesley Turnbull from Wish Upon A Dream on 07624 229229 or Dot Tilbury from Royal London 360's Children's Cycling League on 01624 851691.
