Another Year for Films in Peel

THE film Another Year will be shown at the Centenary Centre in Peel on Wednesday, April 13.

 

It will be screened as part of the Films in Peel initiative.

 

Another Year (cert 12A) is directed by award winning British director Mike Leigh.

 

Starring talented British actors Jim Broadbent, Ruth Sheen and Lesley Manville, it tells the story of a happily married couple through the four seasons.

 

It is a story about companionship, getting older and those small events that make life interesting, enjoyable or unbearable.

 

Lesley Manville, who was BAFTA nominated for her role as Mary, is currently filming a CinemaNX production with Ray Winstone called Ashes which is due for release in 2012.

 

The film starts at 7.45pm and lasts 129 minutes. Doors open at 7.15pm.

 

Tickets are £4 (£3 concessions) and are available from Celtic Gold, Peel, or on the door.

 

Special blue tickets which guarantee a seat but still require payment on the door can be found at Mostly Manx and Peter Norris Music in Douglas, Shakti Man in Ramsey and Thompson Travel in Port Erin.

 

The remaining films this season are The Social Network (cert 12A) on April 27, Made in Dagenham (cert 15) on May 11 and The King's Speech (cert 12A) on May 25.
