The revival of the Dolphin swimming gala could be permanent.
Education chiefs said last year's inter-school competition would be the last one due to cost-cutting, sparking anger among some MHKs.
However, the Isle of Man Swimming Association was approached by parents to stage the event in 2011, and it will go ahead at the National Sports Centre next week with 30 Island primary schools competing.
