A chance to help people rebuild their lives

The Isle of Man has so far contributed about ?6,000 to a campaign being run by an international charity which supports survivors of major incidents.

Volunteers from the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, or ADRA, have been carrying out door to door collections around the Island.

The organisation works in more than 120 countries around the world, with the main aim of helping people rebuild their lives after disasters and conflicts.

For every ?1 donated on the Island, the European Commission has said it will give ?5, and collections are due to continue for the next ten days.

Noel Apugan, who is leading the campaign over here, says ADRA is making a difference around the world:
