by isleofman.com 30th March 2011

POLICE have named the motorcyclist killed in a road traffic collision in Greeba on Monday as Alexander Williamson.

Mr Williamson, 34, from Peel was riding a Suzuki GSXR1300 towards Peel when it was in collision with a blue Renault Modus near to the Hawthorn Pub at approximately 4.25pm.

The incident led to the main road, from Crosby to Ballacraine, being closed for two and a half hours.

Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A blue Mondeo was present at the scene of the incident, but was not involved in the collision, and police believe the car's presence may prompt the memory of other witnesses.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Police Headquarters on 01624 321212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
