by isleofman.com 30th March 2011

CELEBRITY chef James Martin will be this year's guest chef at the Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival.

James has appeared in numerous televised cookery programmes and currently presents Saturday Kitchen Live on BBC 1.

He also writes for a variety of magazines, has published a number of cookery books and is currently preparing to open a new restaurant in Leeds.

James visited the Island in 2008 and explained that he is excited to return. He said: "I am really looking forward to a return visit to the Island and to using local produce to create fabulous food for festival visitors to taste.

"Local produce makes such an important contribution to the special distinctiveness of a place and I’m sure that this is true on the Isle of Man."

The Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival will take place on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, in the Nunnery Gardens of the Isle of Man International Business School in Douglas.

James will attend the festival on the Sunday and will run two cookery demonstrations, meet local producers and sign copies of his new book Masterclass.
