Alleged attack on local referee

by isleofman.com 29th March 2011

The Isle of Man Football Association is investigating an alleged assault on a match official at the end of Sunday's Veterans' League fixture between Ronaldsway and Onchan.

A statement confirms the association has received a report from referee Chris Taggart and the case will now be examined by the disciplinary committee.

It's reported the ref was attacked by a Ronaldsway player after the final whistle, which Onchan won 4-2.

The FA says there will be no further comment until the disciplinary committee has met and decided what action to take.
