Motorcyclist dies following collision in Greeba

A MOTORCYCLIST died from injuries sustained in a collision near the Hawthorn in Greeba yesterday (Monday).

 

The incident led to the main road, from Crosby to Ballacraine, being closed for two and a half hours.

 

The rider, whose name has not yet been released by police, was riding a Suzuki GSXR1300 towards Peel when it was in collision with a blue Renault Modus.

 

A blue Ford Mondeo was in the immediate vicinity, also travelling towards Peel.

 

The drivers of the Renault and Ford have been traced.

 

Police are appealing for witnesses and said at the time of the collision there was 'a fair amount' of traffic on the road.

 

The motorcyclist's next of kin and the coroner of inquests have been informed.
