by isleofman.com 29th March 2011

ROLL Deep, Wretch 32 and Jodie Connor have been added to the line up of the Manx Telecom Bay Festival.

The three acts will play in the South Park on Friday, June 17.

Roll Deep are a London based grime music collective who formed in 2002. They secured their first number one single, Good Times, in May last year and followed this up with another, Green Light, in August.

Some of the groups former members including Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder (who is performing at this year's festival) have gone on to become successful solo artists in the UK and USA.

Jodie Connor is an English singer songwriter from Manchester. She rose to fame in 2010 after appearing as a guest vocalist on the Roll Deep hit Good Times. Jodie signed to Polydor Records and released her debut solo single, Now or Never, in January. Her second single, Bring It, which features Tinchy Stryder was released last month.

Wretch 32, aka Jermaine Scott, is a UK hip hop artist who released his first single, Traktor, in January. He is signed to Ministry of Sound/Levels Recordings. Last year Wretch 32 was nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2011 poll and MTV named him as a nominee for MTV Brand New for 2011.
