Late night opening means early closing on Saturday for library

by isleofman.com 29th March 2011

THE Henry Bloom Noble Library in Douglas is going to be open late on Thursdays - but this means an earlier closing time on Saturdays.

It will stay open until 7.30pm on Thursdays with effect from Thursday, April 7 and it will be for a six-month trial period.

However the library, in Victoria Street, will close on Saturdays at 4pm - as opposed to 5.30pm - effective from Saturday, April 9.

Borough librarian Jan Macartney said: "These changes to our opening times are in response to customer feedback and are designed to accommodate the wishes of a growing number of users who are unable to get to the library during normal working hours.

"Late-night opening is just one of a number of enhancements we shall be introducing this year to provide customers with increased choice for how and when they access our services."
