Questions over the appointment of new chief secretary to be asked in Keys

by isleofman.com 28th March 2011

ONCHAN MHK Peter Karran is to quiz Chief Minister Tony Brown MHK about the new chief secretary.

He has tabled a question for tomorrow's (Tuesday's) sitting of the House of Keys.

Former Department of Home Affairs chief executive Will Greenhow was appointed to the position following the retirement of Mary Williams.

Mr Karran, the Liberal Vannin party leader, wants to know:

How many people applied for the role

How many people were interviewed

If the Chief Minister will place a copy of the role description and person specification for the role in the Tynwald library

Whether the person appointed to the role met every one of the requirements of the person specification categorised as "essential" and, if not, why not and

Whether the previous chief secretary is to be appointed to any public sector role
