Governor believes role will continue

The Isle of Man's outgoing lieutenant governor believes the position will survive in its current form for the foreseeable future.

Sir Paul and Lady Haddacks leave the Island on April 1, at the end of a term of office which has been extended by six months.

Sir Paul says he 'senses no pressure' for the office to be replaced by a less formal style of representation (first part of audio file):

Sir Paul says as long as the queen remains Lord of Man she will require a representative, and whether that person continues to be styled as a lieutenant governor is a matter for the Manx government and the people of the Island (second part of audio file):
