Higher pay in public sector explained

A union boss says people shouldn't get the idea public sector workers are overpaid after government figures showed they earn an average ?80 a week more than their private sector counterparts.

The statistics are included in the Manx Treasury's annual earnings survey, which shows the average public sector worker gets ?652 for a 37-hour week, while those in the private sector do an hour more for ?572.

Angela Moffatt of Prospect told Jason Roberts the figures don't tell the whole story:
