CASTLETOWN resident Jonathan Rea has made a good start to the World Superbike round at Donington.
The Castrol Honda superbike ace was third fastest in free practice earlier today (Friday) behind Ducati rider Carlos Checa, from Spain, and Yamaha rider Marco Melandri, of Italy.
There is a qualifying session later today and tomorrow Superpole - which will decide the leading grid positions - takes place.
Both World Superbike races are on Sunday.
Jonathan's fellow Island resident James Toseland, who lives in Port Soderick, is not competing at the event due to injury.
