Arai unveils limited edition TT helmet

by isleofman.com 27th March 2011

MOTORCYCLE helmet manufacturer Arai has unveiled its latest limited edition helmet which celebrates 100 years of the Mountain Course.

The helmet, which was designed by Italian designer Aldo Drudi, features the names of famous bends and landmarks on the course as well as the official TT logo and Manx triskelion.

This is the second helmet, in a series of three, as part of Arai's commercial partnership with the TT and there are only 500 available. It is based on the highly successful professional racing bred RX-7 GP model and is fully road legal.

Several high profile TT riders will wear the new helmet during the races and it will also be used by the event's travelling marshals during their official duties.

Economic Development Minister Allan Bell MHK said: "I am delighted that Arai has once again created such a prestigious helmet and their 2011 design is a fitting tribute to the TT Mountain Course’s anniversary. The company has a long record of involvement with the TT Races and is a valued partner."

The helmet will retail at £699.99 and will be distributed through Crossan Motorcycles.
