Fuel reduction of 'no great concern'

by isleofman.com 25th March 2011

The reduction in the cost of fuel - by a penny a litre – and the introduction of a tax on private jets in the UK is of no great concern, according an Island banker.

Treasury Minister Anne Craine said the measures introduced in Wednesday’s UK budget could cost the Isle of Man ?2 million pounds.

Treasury officers will spend the next few weeks studying the small print behind the headline figures and the potential implications for the Island.

Jeremy Fong, corporate banking manager at Lloyds TSB, says while there’s no major concerns arising from the budget, he can understand the Minister’s frustration.
