Libya in Keys spotlight

by isleofman.com 25th March 2011

Amidst continuing airstrikes over Libya, events in the country will be discussed in the House of Keys next week (Tuesday).

Michael member David Cannan will ask if the Manx government has introduced legislation to freeze any assets Colonel Gaddafi and his family could have in the Island or those acting on his behalf.

Mr Cannan is keen that any assets here can’t be used against the interests of the Libyan people.

He also wants to know if the government has implemented legislation in respect of United
Nations sanctions against Libya.

Colonel Gaddafi's forces are still attacking civilians.
