Kennaugh and teammates miss chance for gold

by isleofman.com 23rd March 2011

Manx cyclist Peter Kennaugh and the rest of the Great Britain four have missed out on a chance to ride for gold in the Team Pursuit at the World Track Championships by just under two seconds.

The other riders in the British team were Ed Clancy, Steven Burke and Andrew Tennant.

Senior man Clancy is said to be struggling with illness and hasn't been able to train over the last week.

The team will face New Zealand later this evening (Wednesday) for the bronze medal while Australia and Russia will meet in the gold medal clash.
