Minister to assess amenity site concerns

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne is launching an investigation after receiving a petition claiming mismanagement at the Western Civic Amenity site.

Michael MHK David Cannan raised the issue in the House of Keys yesterday (Tuesday).

The petition is signed by 600 residents, predominantly from the west and north of the Island, and an accompanying letter claims no action has been taken over incidents at the site, despite complaints to management.

The site was in the news last month when two long-serving workers, both beyond retirement age, didn't have their contracts renewed.

Phil Gawne says his department will assess concerns at a meeting next week:
