Community council formed at Douglas school

Teachers and governors at St Ninian's High School are setting up a new group to get the community more involved with the school, and and vice versa.

The community council will be made up of local residents and students.

Initially, it will focus on the school's silver jubilee celebrations and the move of 800 pupils, from years seven to nine, to the new Bemahague site in September.

In the future, the council will be elected and there will be an extended group of "Friends of St Ninian's High School."

Head teacher Andrew Fox says both sides will benefit:
