Body of man found on beach identified

THE body of a man found on Perwick Beach, Port St Mary, has been identified as 61 year old Kenneth Merryweather.

 

Mr Merryweather's body was found on Sunday by a member of the public.

 

Police said the investigation is ongoing but have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.

 

Mr Merryweather was from the Laxey area. His family have been informed of his death.

 

Detective Sergeant Andy Pailor said: "The public should be reassured that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Merryweather's death and the ongoing inquiries are a matter of routine."

 

The coroner of inquests has been notified.
