Regeneration row on Mandate

by isleofman.com 21st March 2011

A row is brewing between an Onchan MHK and the chairman of the district commissioners, over regeneration.

Earlier this month, board chairman Brian Stowell apologised to ratepayers as he admitted the local authority had done little to secure a slice of the government’s ?8.9 million pound regeneration fund.

Now, David Quirk is expressing disappointment at the lack of urgency, and has written to all the commissioners except Mr Stowell, to voice his disapproval.

The two men appeared together on today's Mandate, with John Moss:

A committee, chaired by Onchan member Adrian Earnshaw, has been established to draw up proposals to enhance the area.
