Increases in bus and taxi fares

by isleofman.com 21st March 2011

Bus fares are going up from this weekend.

Director of public transport Ian Longworth has been outlining the reason, as well as admitting the Island's buses aren't clean enough.

He says revenue from ticket sales is vital to the operation (play audio file):

The new fares take effect from Sunday, March 28.

Taxi fares are also going up, by five per cent, from April 1.

Again, fuel costs are being blamed.
