Change in policy reflects society, says Minister

The prospects for adults with learning disabilities in the Isle of Man has significantly improved over the last decade, claims the Department of Social Care.

Since the closure of Ballamona in 2000, the department says its focus has shifted to a network of community services, so people no longer have to face life in an institutional setting.

Social Care Minister Martyn Quayle thinks the change in policy has been reflected by a change in society too:
