New bin wagon for Ramsey

by isleofman.com 19th March 2011

RAMSEY Commissioners have spent £145,000 on a new-generation bin wagon.

The Dennis Eagle Olympus rubbish collection vehicle has been bought as part of the Commissioners' rolling fleet replacement programme.

Ramsey is the first local authority in the Island to buy a new-generation vehicle.

The keys were officially handed over to lead member for works and development Kevin Mayne by the manufacturer's regional sales manager Paul Hobday.

Mr Hobday said: "Dennis Eagle has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Ramsey Town Commissioners and I am delighted that once again we were successful in securing the business to supply one of our products."

Mr Mayne said: "The Dennis Eagle Olympus features increased fuel efficiency and meets all the latest European emission standards.

"Additionally we understand that Port Erin Commissioners have expressed interest in this vehicle type and we shall be pleased to arrange a demonstration for them in due course."
