It looks as if the long-awaited regeneration of Ramsey is finally on track.
Work on a new hotel is expected to start early in the summer, and the bowling centre at the old swimming pool should be open in the next couple of months.
Ramsey MHK and Minister for Economic Development Allan Bell is confident these and other projects, drawing on the government's regeneration fund, will slowly lift the image of the town.
Mr Bell says the new hotel will be considerably smaller than the soon to be demolished Grand Island, but it's a significant development:
