Online auction for Twestival now live

by isleofman.com 20th March 2011

AN online auction to support the Manx charity Wish Upon A Dream is now live.

The auction is part of the Isle of Man Twestival (Twitter Festival) event which aims to raise money by bringing online communities together offline.

More than 20 items are up for auction including restaurant vouchers, beauty treatments, photography vouchers, food items and a case of champagne.

Twestival organiser Sherrilynne Starkie said: "The Isle of Man business community has been incredibly supportive of Twestival by contributing a wide range of luxury services, must-have items and gourmet treats. A highlight is the smart phone donated by our corporate sponsor Manx Telecom - a Samsung Galaxy S mobile phone worth £495 - is sure to attract many bidders."

Anyone who would like to bid for these items can visit the auction by logging onto www.manxvoice.com/twestival-auctions. The auction works like eBay but there is no requirement for a PayPal account or to provide credit card information online, as organisers will only accept cheques made out to the charity.

Bidding closes on March 24, but organisers reserve the right to let some items run longer if the reserves have not been met.

The second Isle of Man Twestival will take place on Thursday, March 24, at 7.30pm at Jaks Bar and Steakhouse in Douglas.
