Wildlife Park open as normal despite roadworks

by isleofman.com 19th March 2011

THE Wildlife Park will be open as normal this weekend despite roadworks outside.

Natural Gas pipeline extension work will be carried out which will mean access to the park is by the exit only.

Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK said: "While the pipeline is brought across the main A3 road through the Wildlife Park entrance, alternative access arrangements are being made for the many visitors expected at the Wildlife Park this weekend.

"Signage will be in place to assist drivers who will enter and leave the car park through the present exit. This manoeuvre will be safe to undertake as there will be traffic lights on the main road while the new pipeline is being laid."

The work is being undertaken by the Manx Electricity Authority which is laying the pipeline from Kirk Michael to Ramsey.

Curraghs Wildlife Park is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
