MHK backing angry cabbies

by isleofman.com 15th March 2011

Taxi drivers are staging a protest outside Tynwald today (Tuesday) to object to plans which, if approved, would allow cabs to operate anywhere in the Isle of Man.

A public consultation found an all-Island system was the most popular option.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne has vowed to work with the taxi trade and review the decision after twelve months, via an unmet needs survey.
